View Count, Ratings, Likes, and Favorites

Non-tracking and tracking cookies are used to keep track of the views/ratings/likes/favorites the user sets on a post or video. They are used to maintain the visitor only sets one ratings/likes/favorites per post/video.

When attempting to login to the management pages of the website, your IP address may be collected to monitor attempts to circumvent any security measures on the site.

Social network sharing icons are used on the site to help share a post/video quickly. These icons use links to the social network with a reference link back to the post/video on the site.

Watch Later Feature

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the following data:

This information is collected only when you make a comment on Cosplay Feature! and is used to identify the person that is making the comment.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

Analytics Collection Services

We use Google Analytics’ and Cloudflare’s analytical collection service to receive anonymized audience data (such as age, gender, device information, how long the website is being interacted, what pages are being accessed, what external sources were the site accessed from, and general geographical location up to the state level) to better understand the behavior of our visitors on the site and to provide analytical data at events and convention to receive press credentials.  These companies also use automated technologies to collect information when you click on our ads, which helps track and manage the effectiveness of our marketing efforts. Tracking cookies may be used by these analytical collection service to track analytical information.

Do Not Track

Convention Coverage (ConventionCoverage.com) relies on WordPress to handle content management on the site. Currently WordPress does not employ a way to handle Do Not Track requests from the web browser. Due to this limitations, we currently doesn’t respond to DNT signals in browsers.

How we protect your data

Transmissions of data are encrypted with Cloudflare’s SSL encryption to ensure encrypted communication to the website. Administrative logins are protected by multiple factors of authentication to ensure only authorized users are able to access the management page.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

What rights you have over your data

If you have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
